The UK is wasting less and saving more during COVID-19 pandemic

Britons are wasting less food during COVID-19 pandemic
An article by Jenn Selby from iNews has shed some light during a dark time in our world.

At first, there were fears and rumors that there would be an increase in food waste due to the panic stockpiling that was occurring across the nation ahead of lockdown. To our surprise, 48 per cent of Britons surveyed said they were throwing LESS food than ever before.

"Of the individuals surveyed early in April, 90 per cent said that their shopping and cooking habits had changed since the lockdown was announced, while around 57 per cent admit they value food more."

As a company that supports wasting less and saving more through the preservation of food, we are pleased that our UK community is doing their part to do the same. And will be a Godsend for anyone like me who regularly throws away fruit which is past its best. Another tip is to make sure you always throw away any over-ripe fruit straight away because it emits enough ethylene gas to make everything else ripen too quickly as well." Read the full article here
